County Durham-based Turtle Enviro is proud to mark its 10th anniversary, celebrating a prosperous decade delivering innovative drainage, water management, and environmental solutions to a diverse range of sectors across the UK.
Since its founding in 2016, the business has grown considerably, constantly evolving its product offering to meet the changing demands of the civils, construction, and commercial markets. During this time, a clear focus on performance and practical solutions has driven the development of a market-leading product portfolio.
One major milestone arrived in October 2022, when Turtle relocated to its HQ at Bowes Business Park in County Durham, where the business remains to this day. The move provided the space and infrastructure needed to support ongoing growth while improving the team’s ability to serve an ever-expanding client base.
In that same year, new products were added to the range, including the Gulliblok, which has become the market leader in silt protection systems for road gullies. The Gulliblok effectively manages surface water while simplifying on-site installation. Its flexible design and proven performance have contributed to its growing popularity in the UK market, where it is now widely recognised and specified by most major housebuilders.
The Gulliblok is a key component of Turtle’s BLOK – Silt Management range, which also includes SiltBlok, CoverBlok, HeadwallBlok, and ChamberBlok.
These product developments reflect Turtle Enviro’s commitment to delivering practical, high-quality systems that meet industry needs, providing customers with innovative solutions that have been tested and proven in real-world conditions.
In 2023, the business embarked on an exciting new phase of development characterised by significant brand and product evolution. A complete brand reinvention, featuring a new logo and the launch of a user-friendly website, showcased the company’s forward-thinking approach and its commitment to aligning with industry needs. Additionally, the company entered a new phase of product innovation, which included an expansion of its core drainage solutions.
At the core of this development is the ongoing evolution of the Accesso range, a versatile and high-performance inspection chamber and catch-pit system designed to meet the practical needs of modern construction and civil engineering projects. Accesso chambers are uniquely prefabricated in our facilities instead of being constructed on-site. This approach not only saves contractors time and money but also ensures durability, ease of installation, and long-term reliability.
Since its launch in 2017, the Accesso range has become a trusted choice for contractors and engineers seeking efficient below-ground inspection solutions. It has continued to evolve year after year, expanding to include over 30 different chambers and more than 150 variations. The range is also supported by a comprehensive selection of pipe adaptors and reducers.
As momentum grew, the business expanded its operational capabilities by increasing its team and welcoming five new members to meet the rising demand and support ongoing product development. Additionally, Turtle launched its Vortiflo-Vortex Flow Control Chambers, which complement the already successful Oriflo-Orifice Flow Control Chambers. This expansion also included a move into larger 1050mm diameter chambers.
Over the past decade, Turtle Enviro has also achieved major industry recognition, including being shortlisted in both 2024 and 2025 for BMJ Industry Awards, reflecting the strength of its offering and enviable reputation within the sector.
Damone Armstrong, Managing Director of Turtles, remarked:
“As we celebrate this incredible milestone, our focus remains firmly on the future. We are committed to continuing our innovation and expanding our product portfolio. It is essential that we collaborate with our customers and listen to their feedback. With their support, we can and will develop new, practical, cost-effective, high-quality solutions that they can depend on for years to come.”
