Managing silt on your development: the benefits of using Siltblok

Siltblok is Turtle’s range of innovative and unique silt management products that are designed and tested to filter out up to 99.9% of Total Suspended Solids (TSS). 

This range of products has been designed for both large and small housing developments  as well as commercial property developments to remove silt buildup from discharged water.

A sustainable solution for your site

The core technology of Siltblok uses 100% recycled post-consumer plastic packaging materials to create a macroporous Blok. 

This Blok is fitted into the Siltblok chamber allowing the flow from the connected surface area to pass through whilst the silt and TSS can be filtered out.

This silt and debris management solution is sustainable due to its ability to not corrode or deteriorate while in situ, and it further ensures any water passing through is cleansed and free of debris.

The simple Siltblok installation process

Siltblok has been designed to be installed directly before the inlet of any storm water attenuation system or surface water sewer outlet. 

When placed and installed correctly this product can remove up to 99.9% of silt and TSS ensuring a reduced amount of water pollution. 

A partner for your inspection chambers and catch pits

A huge benefit to our Siltblok range is that the filter can be used with our Accesso inspection chamber products.  The Siltblok filter is also included in the Gulliblok, Coverblok and Headwallblok silt management products. 

For larger sites with an increased number of surface water runoffs, Accesso catch pits can be installed further upstream from the Siltblok filter to further support its performance, spreading the storage of silt and TSS to different chambers across the site.

Gulliblok, Coverblok and Headwallblok use the Blok filter to prevent TSS from migrating out of the surface water system into connected watercourses. This innovative technology enables the removal of up to 95% of particles larger than 75 um, and as the product is used and silt builds up, the removal rate will typically increase up to 99.9%.
