The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and Turtle share a great friendship. Recently, Turtle attended the GNAAS golf event for charity at Close House Golf Course in Northumberland.
As the GNAAS is our Charity of the Year for 2023, to show our support we attended the event and entered a team into the competition.
The charity hosted the golf day to help raise money to fund the services they provide to those in need.
As the name suggests, the GNAAS respond to major incident callouts by helicopter and car. Significantly transporting critical care teams to the scene to provide advanced medical care to those who need it.
Each mission can cost up to £5,000 and the annual cost of the service is £7.7 million. So without support it’s extremely difficult for the team to continue to provide their essential services.
The GNAAS golf event was a huge success with many teams signing up to play 18 holes of golf. Additionally, several businesses sponsoring holes on the course and donating incredible prizes for the raffle.
Throughout the day there were various competitions, as well as presentations and prizes followed by a BBQ at the clubhouse to round off a successful day.
The GNAAS is a stand-alone charity. Certainly, we were proud to be part of the day raising awareness and supporting such an amazing organisation. Correspondingly, we are looking forward to further charity events later this year.
To find out more about how you can support the GNAAS and ensure they can continue to provide their vital life-saving services, head to the charity’s website.
