Product Code: GT500About the Product
The GT500 is a highly effective passive grease trap engineered specifically for small to medium-sized commercial kitchens, including restaurants and fast food/takeaway operations.
This trap is tailored for environments where cooking processes involve substantial use of oils and fats, making it essential for managing wastewater from multiple sinks.
Employing a proven vertical gravity separation design the GT500 optimizes the capture and retention of grease, oils, and particulate matter.
Its vertically oriented chamber design facilitates superior settlement of lighter immiscible oils and greases at the top of the trap and then efficient storage of solids and sludge at the trap’s deeper base, thereby minimizing clogging risk and ensuring sustained operational efficiency over time.
With a generous internal diameter of Ø 600mm the GT500 is the largest of our GT Range, capable of handling significant volumes of wastewater.
It features, as standard -110mm EN 1401 pipe connections, allowing for straightforward and quick installation onto your drainage system.
As the largest unit in our GT Grease Trap series, the GT500 offers a working capacity of nearly 500 litres, making it particularly suited for high-demand kitchen environments.
Its engineered design not only ensures compliance with stringent environmental regulations but also effectively mitigates the potential for grease accumulation within the drainage system, promoting a hygienic and safe kitchen atmosphere.
We also offer an alternative model for smaller kitchens which has a Ø 500mm chamber and a smaller capacity of 136 litres, which you can view

- Installation: You should install the grease separator close to wastewater sources while avoiding unventilated areas. Additionally, ensure it is positioned to prevent frost damage and allow easy access for maintenance.
- Ventilation: Pipelines connected to the grease separator must be adequately ventilated.
- Maintenance: Regular inspection, emptying, and cleaning are essential. Follow national or local regulations for waste disposal. The frequency of maintenance should be based on the separator’s grease and sludge storage capacity and operational experience. Generally, you should empty, clean, and refill the separator with clean water at least once a month, preferably every two weeks.
For detailed guidance, refer to BS EN 1825 standards.
